Nursing Home/Assisted Living

Another example of personal injury would be injuries that occur when we place family members or ourselves in nursing homes or rehabilitation care facilities. The same principles apply. Our family elders are more vulnerable, because of their age, to negligence and mistreatment. There are special laws in the State of Washington that allow further protection for the elderly and infirm. Nursing homes are responsible to provide reasonable care and are also required to meet the standard of care of a reasonably prudent nurse, physician, and other healthcare provider. Their failure to do so makes them responsible and liable for the injuries and damages they cause.
